Coffee grounds versus facial scrubs*Every day we see the new and improved facial scrubs on the market. They also come with more promises of beauty and a younger looking skin. This is what most women at a certain age are willing to spend their weeks salary on. Maybe it is time we stopped the marketing game and went back to basics Ladies!!
Coffee Grounds has always been in the background as a very earthly and basic facial scrub. So why don't more of us use it? More than not because it does not come with fancy packaging and selling commercials.
Here are a few facts on coffee grounds. Instead of drinking the coffee, which we all read is not good for us health wise, try using the grounds as an exfoliant.

Countless research studies, as well as extensive clinical experience, have proven that caffeine is associated with a number of negative health consequences, including poor bone health, high blood pressure, heartburn, and indigestion. Plus, caffeine elevates estrogen levels in women—a situation that increases the risk of a host of negative health conditions.
While coffee consumption is not recommended, there is something to be said for the grounds. When used topically, coffee is a natural astringent, antioxidant, detoxifier, and exfoliant. The grounds contain specific oils that help moisturize skin and hundreds of antioxidants that help protect against fine lines and wrinkles.
In addition to antioxidant capabilities, coffee grounds have the same pH as your skin (4.5) when used topically. This makes them a powerful ally for battling acne and other blemishes. Plus, the caffeine in coffee grounds has been shown to help fade age spots and even wrinkles.
Finally, when used as a scrub, coffee grounds help slough off dead skin cells and stimulate the circulation in skin all the way down to the cellular level. And grounds aren’t nearly as harsh as many of the salt-based scrubs.
Based on all of this, coffee grounds provide a terrific remedy for cellulite, as well as a great facial exfoliant. In the case of cellulite, massaging the grounds into your affected areas not only works to reduce the dimples and pockets commonly associated with cellulite, but the caffeine helps to tighten your skin and tissues by constricting your superficial blood vessels.
To try this remedy, warm about ½ cup of coffee grounds. You can do this by heating them up in a microwave or running them through your automatic drip coffee maker. Next, massage the warm coffee grounds into the affected area, then secure with plastic wrap. After 10–15 minutes, simply rinse the grounds off in the shower. For even better result, follow this treatment with my body firming gel. This beautiful topical gel is infused with natural botanicals, enzymes, and herbal extracts, all of which work to give you noticeably firmer skin.
You can also use coffee grounds on your face to exfoliate dead skin cells. Use like any other exfoliant. Place the grounds in the palm of your hands and gently work across your face and neck, taking care to avoid your eyes. Rinse with warm water. Then follow with a gentle, hydrating cleanser, moisturizer, and eye cream.
